Where will we meet?
Sessions will either be on an agreed upon location or in the studio.
What should I expect?
Sessions will last at least one to two hours. I will communicate with you or the client(s) to help you/them relax and feel comfortable. Feel free to bring any personal items that you would like to include in your session. This could be an instrument, a ball, a quilt that grandma made, a favorite toy or even bubbles! My goal is to make you, the client(s) relax, play, have fun, and just be natural.
What should I/we wear?
Wear whatever you would like that makes you feel comfortable and look your best.
- Casual outfits in earth tones work best for outdoor photographs
- Middle tones or deeper solid colors are ideal for formal portraits
- Avoid large prints or patterns that detract from your face or sleeveless tops that can make your arms appear larger than they really are
- Darker tones will help slim. Broad stripes do not photograph well, as they tend to broaden your physique
Avoid logos and graphics on your clothing, however, as they can be distracting in the photos. The subject(s) of the photo should wear a color that complements his or her skin tone and hair color. In full body photos it is important to make sure your shoes match your outfit and do not draw focus from the subject.
For headshots the focus is supposed to be on the face and upper torso, so pants and shoes do not matter as much. Darker colors are also better for headshots as they are less distracting.
Groups and Families choose 1-3 colors with similar tones that complement each other and have everyone work within that color palette. For example: dark green, navy, and burgundy – all dark jewel tones; or tan, a lighter olive green, and denims – all lighter, softer tones.
When will we see our proofs?
In about two weeks, I will send you an email link to your photo gallery. Your gallery will be online for 30 days for you to purchase and choose which photos you want printed and/or delivered as a digital copy.
Can I put the photos on my blog or Facebook, Instagram or any other social media?
Yes, if you see your images on my Facebook page, please tag yourself. All I ask is that you please leave my logo on your images if you download and repost them for copyright purposes.
